I was honored as a famous poet in Orlando Florida in the early 2000 years.

Hello I’m A southern girl from south east Tennessee.  My community is in the Smokey Mountain National Forest Valley.  I have been raised in the hills of Tennessee all my life. I grew up a Tomboy and it kinda stayed with me as I got older.  I met my husband early in life I was 12. He hung out with my brothers and sisters along with the rest of the neighborhood kids which consisted of about 20 children in a one mile radius and not all of them were kids we played with. My childhood consisted of playing and swimming in creeks chasing salamanders and making mud pies in the clubhouse which was the old chicken coop.  Yes as you guessed it I was raised in the country with two brothers and two sisters. I lived  On several acres of land with Tobacco plants and big gardens. I have four children, 3 girls and 1 boy and, I still live on those several acres where my children get to experience the same joys of living as I did. That’s where I’m most inspired. Smelling the cut grass and the onion blades, the sweet smell of honeys suckles on a mid- summer day. Those are the memories I cherish the most. I wasn’t always happy but, when I came outside I lived, I really lived. It was my escape to my everyday run of the mill childhood, playing in barns and running the hay fields, that was me. Now between my job in law enforcement and taking care of my family, writing is my escape. I write about today, tomorrow and yesterday , Things past, present and future. Some of the stuff I write about, is sweet and whimsical. Some of the other stuff is hard, some factual stuff, some make believe stuff. I put myself in the poetry I write or I use other people. Some of my work is morbid and will shock you. My earlier works before I was saved was a bit explicit  so  you may or may not see those works because Your tounge ( my Fingers in this case ) is a two edge sword it can cause life or death ) so in knowing that, I write about peoples experiences and their lives whether it be good or bad. The same with mine, writing wouldn’t be writing unless you put your heart into it. I believe everything happens for a reason rather it be good or bad, that we are to learn something from it. I believe that a lesson is laid out for us just like in school and it we don’t pass that lesson we then repeat the course. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. It’s not something I sing on Sundays or play thru the week. Being Christian is what and who I am. I hope your readings of my works are as enjoyable to read as they are for me to write. God Bless

Laurie, thank you for stopping and liking a recent post. I look forward to reading about your writing on things from the past, the present, and the future. You are right when you say you need to put your heart into your writing. It is in that space one has an opportunity to find their voice.

    Take care,

    Ivon

    Hello Laurie,
Thanks for visiting my humble site. Seems we grew up much the same (small town, small farm). The scent of new mowed hay and honeysuckle is really familiar. Left the farm and haven’t looked back. Writing is something I do basically for me, and for fun. I try not to take myself too seriously. Enjoyed looking at some of your work and will visit again sometime.

We grew up in similar circumstances….isn’t it great to look back on those golden days and to still be to carry them in your heart. Thank you for stopping by and hope you will stop by again. I’m a full tilt Southern girl from NC and proud of it. That being said, on hot days there will be two jugs – one sweet tea and one lemonade – there will be those little cheese wafers w/pecans on the top. potato salad, and fried chicken to munch on. The porch, the pitchers, and fridge are always open.

Great credentials, Laurie – & a great pen name. What do you do as working for wordpress? If you’re not allowed to tell, is fine, but man it would be great to earn from writing!!
